Life in Beeford

Beeford is the ideal place to experience village life and become part of a thriving local community.

Village Life

The village hall is the hub of the community and has a growing list of activities you can take part in including a bowls club, tennis club and cricket club. 

​

Next to the local primary school is Beeford Children’s Centre which puts on play and learn sessions, baby massage and sensory sessions. 

 

You’ll also find a handy village post office which is open every day.

Food and Drink

In Beeford you’ll find a traditional local pub called The Tiger Inn that also has an Indian restaurant. Reviews praise the lovely home cooked food, great staff and friendly atmosphere.

If you fancy staying in you can get some of the best fish and chips around at the local chippy which has 5 star reviews, or head to the Great Wall Chinese takeaway.

​

Just a 30 minute drive away there’s the Triton Inn at Sledmere which serves lovely food, and the Michelin Starred Pipe and Glass.

 

In nearby Brandesburton is Bert’s Pizzeria which serves delicious Italian food including homemade gelato.

Education

Beeford C of E Primary School is a few minutes walk from our Manor Farm Development and has a ‘good’ rating from OFSTED.

 

Driffield School is the closest secondary school and sixth form and is also rated ‘good’ by OFSTED.

Things to do

As a village on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, Beeford isn’t far from great walks and bike trails for all abilities. You can drive to the North York Moors National Park to take in the beautiful scenery, or if you want some sea air Bridlington and Hornsea are only a short drive away. 

 

You can work on your handicap at Driffield Golf Club and entertain the kids at William’s DenBurton Agnes Hall and Sewerby Hall are nearby with beautiful gardens, cafes, woodland walks, play areas for the kids and even a zoo (at Sewerby). You'll also be close to Danes Dyke beach which is great for discovering rock pools and woodland trails down to the beach.

If you’re after fresh, local produce give the local family butcher Stephen Harrison a try.

 

There’s also the Driffield Farmers’ Market on the first Saturday of every month at the Driffield Showground.

 

For some retail therapy head to Beverley, Harrogate, York, Hull or Leeds.

Transport

Driffield Station is only 8 miles away with connections to York, Sheffield, Scarborough and Bridlington.


There’s a bus from Beeford Main Street to Driffield where you can pick up other connections or get on the train. Humberside and Doncaster Sheffield are the nearest airports.

Gym Equipment

Health

There is a GP Surgery in Beeford and another close by in Driffield. The nearest hospitals are East Riding Community Hospital and Alfred Bean Hospital. City Health Dental is one of the closest dental surgeries. 


Nearby is Wolds way to Health gym, which has a range of equipment, classes and even triathlon training. There is also Driffield Health Hub which offers a range of classes from spinning to yoga.
